Quicksand Charlie
Quicksand Charlie formed back in 1996 when guitarist Richard Proctor was searching for a singer to form a band with. He contacted old friend Ryan St. John, whom he had previously been in a covers band with. Ryan agreed and with the later additions of Dean Roach (bass) and Steve Roberts (drums) the band known as Quicksand Charlie was born!
The band toured and played regularly, not just locally, but throughout the U.K. They built up a huge fan base and following and received positive feedback from the press with quotes such as "melodic and uplifting" and "in possession of accomplished lyrics and memorable tunes".
The past couple of years have been both busy and eventful for Quicksand Charlie. In 1997 they were part of the three band "Lil' Paw Tour" that toured nationwide for two months.
1999 saw the band cross the atlantic to America. With an extensive tour of Hollywood and L.A, the band played at venues of prestige and history, such as The Whiskey A-Go-Go, The Roxy, The Viper Rooms, The GIG and Goldfingers amongst others. The band impressed the American audiences so much, that they were invited back. They intend to oblige and return some time within the next year.
