Biography

Abergavenny, South Wales - home and birthplace of Ruby Cruiser, who will soon be added to the ever expanding A-Z of Welsh musical majesty. Prepare to be dazzled with a display of crunching riffs, melody and poptastic choruses, whilst maintaining their pop sensibilities with lyrics about life in the small town and stories of escaping from it. Ruby Cruiser are about the good things in life, the bands writing reflects an idealist attitude with an offbeat sense of humour. Smile, laugh and be happy, or be shot to pieces by the raging ferocity of this fine-tuned four piece.

Ruby Cruiser consist of Ed Smale (vocals/bass), Matthew Phillips (vocals/guitar), Lino Malnati (backing vocals/guitar) and Lee Kendrick (drums). The band formed in April 1997 and after endless gigs with the likes of Dub War, Novacaine and Flyscreen to name a few, they released a single in November of the same year, on Rough Trade Records. The band soon drew the attention of One Little Indian Records, to whom they are now signed. They are also signed to Geffen in the US.

The band will release their debut album 'Twelve Short Stories' early next year. The album was produced by Chris Sheldon ( Foo Fighters, 3 Colours Red, Feeder). The first single taken from the album was released on May 10th titled "Joes New Car". Their second single "A Little Indulgence" was released on July 19th through Elemental/One Little Indian.
