Biography
Sunny Aberystwyth in west Wales was inhabited by four musicians, with no great grasp of their instruments, studying the art of bare footed insane banana country punk. Here, The Crocketts were relatively free from the poison of trends and hero worship. Their tunes naturally evolved to embrace pop, country, punk and blues, as well as their own brand of obscure rhythms. The final ingredients for this unique sound came with the scarred 'hooks to tear up the world' guitar, and rhythm section that could twist into maniac chorus of sheer power and beauty.
The only member of the Crocketts that's Welsh is the drummer Owen, however they spent several of their college years in Aberystwyth, and they get a lot of publicity from Welsh T.V. and magazines. The Crocketts are so good, we have to have them as a nation!!!
The Crocketts completed college in June '97, unleashing themselves on the UK gig circuit. They swiftly became likened to the best bits of the Clash, The Doors and Nirvana, hell-bent on entertaining.
